Motherhood, One Option for Women |
The year is 2012. The focus in the United States is on Occupy, on the elections and on terrorism. And, women are on the move.
What does women on the move mean?
More women in the Olympics
Women in more corporate positions
Women speaking out about domestic abuse and violence
Women traveling around the world
Women saying "no" to war in their village
Women breaking the silence about the impact of partriarichial systems
Women encouraging women to run for political office
Women speaking of the Goddess in religious circles
Young girls standing up to power to say No to altered body images...
and more....
Some will say this movement is good. Others will say it is bad. What determines?
Like everything in our lives, our view is the result of our inner world of beliefs. If I hold the concept that women belong in the home; cooking, cleaning, raising children, and keeping life smooth for their "man", then I might judge the increased numbers of women in the workplace as "bad".
If I view life as an opportunity for each individual to explore and discover what brings them joy then I might judge the increased options for women outside of the home as "good".
Women on the move is creating a new culture in which we will see our own dogma and inner concepts about being female show up in our thoughts, emotions or actions. Realizing that all that we believe is only one way of seeing the world, is a made up concept and that we can mature beyond our limited thinking is the gift for humanity.
Will we open the box of our minds and let in the new gifts of seeing male/female differently?
